Modern Slavery Reporting

November 1, 2023

Modern slavery is the serious exploitation of humans for personal or commercial gain. While few businesses would knowingly deal with suppliers that use exploitative practices, all organisations share the collective responsibility to guarantee that their goods and services are not products of modern slavery.

Cress has recently assisted United Fasteners in mandatory reporting on the risks of modern slavery in its operations and supply chains and defining actions to address those risks. Cress worked closely with United Fasteners to prepare a Modern Slavery Statement and Policy compliant with the Modern Slavery Act 2018, covering the seven mandatory criteria.

United Fasteners is Australia’s largest independent distributor of fastening products and industrial supplies. Headquartered in Sydney, United Fasteners’ national footprint covers 13 branches across Australia, and its supply chain includes over 500 suppliers to source a wide range of fasteners, fixings and industrial supplies.
